Welcome to Cerulea!

Cerulea is a collaborative furry, or anthropomorphic animal, worldbuilding project cum play-by-post roleplaying game. If you are comfortable with the furry theme, by all means join us. As much as it is furry, the genre the world belongs to is largely high fantasy due to the central subject matter of cerulite crystal used as the source of power to the different magics and technologies. The cerulite is what keeps the islands floating in this endless expanse of white clouds and blue skies. Steampunk has as much a place as fantasy in this world due to the presence of massive cerulite-powered airships called arcliners vital to inter-island trade. The following are some advise on how you could contribute to the project:

WORLDBUILDING | Cerulea is still in its infancy, so if you have ideas on the way Cerulea could look, please post. The central theme to Cerulea is the exploitation of cerulite crystal. Cerulite is the source of power to the different magical systems and technologies in the world. Cerulite deposits that mature through the centuries, grow in purity and develop sentience. The Holy Isles of the Nagas grew wealthy from their immense deposits of pure cerulite and its export. In the core of each island is a concentration of cerulite that keeps it afloat. Even when they are able to drill deep enough, Ceruleans quickly learn to leave their island cores alone, if they are to grow food. Most Ceruleans simply learn to be efficient in the consumption of this rare and valuable commodity. As it is, Cerulea is an empty canvas ready to be painted with original creature designs and simply bizarre phenomena.

PLAY a CHARACTER or GROUP | You could enter the world as a single character using your pre-existing fursona. The existing Cerulean nations are all descended from people who were transported here involuntarily by means of shears or warps in space and time through the centuries. A lot of groups forget how they arrive, yet some place high regard to their original heritage as misplaced individuals. To date, there are no native humanoid sentient species in Cerulea. At the same time, you could play a group or island-nation affiliated to one of the Great Powers, or one that is lying just outside the Known Skies unaffected by the politics there. Cerulea remains largely unexplored, so there is always a place for the strange and wondrous in the world!
